Barcelona’s 22-year-old Pedro Gonzalez Lopez Pedri has revealed he enjoys playing in central midfield after Hansi Flick deployed him there this season.
‘I like this position a lot because I get to touch the ball, I get to touch it a lot and the game goes through me. The 22-year-old midfielder also spoke about the atmosphere in Barcelona’s dressing room, where he is one of the leaders: ‘We laugh all the time and we always have hesitations because there are players who are not even 20 years old. We laugh a lot and the good relationships we have off the pitch translate on the pitch.’
‘There are a lot of young players and because of my seniority I have to be one of the leaders. I like to be like that. It’s a role that doesn’t scare me. I just want to face it and try to bring Barcelona to the title.’
Pedri also praised Rafinha’s performances this season, saying: ‘He deserves his success very much because there was a time when there was a lot of criticism towards him, he was not at his best, but you always see him training, wanting to improve, wanting to have the chances that you know will come to him because of the way he works. He is outstanding. ‘
